Accessibility

BetterValenzuela is built to be usable by everyone, on any device.

Last updated Oct 3, 2026

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and every page is checked automatically for accessibility problems before it goes live.

What we do

Keyboard friendlyEvery page works with a keyboard, with a visible focus and a “Skip to main content” link.
Screen readersClear headings, labeled buttons, and phone numbers announced as call links.
Zoom and text sizePages still work when you zoom up to 200% or use larger text.
Readable colorsText and buttons meet AA color contrast, and color is never the only signal.
Calm motionAnimations turn off when your device asks for reduced motion.
Works without JavaScriptPages load and read fine without scripts; only search and a few extras need them.

Known limitations

Some official documents we link to, such as scanned PDFs on the city website, may not be accessible. We do not control those files, but we summarize the key information on our pages wherever we can.
